As a writer, I understand firsthand the difficulty that comes when it’s time to share your work with others. Thankfully, social media has given more opportunity for writers to share their work and create the fan base that can provide them with success. But, dozens of platforms exist and some of them aren’t exactly friendly to writers. Which sites are best to use if you are a writer? The sites below are among my favourites and those I’ve found to provide the most success when used.
Tumblr isn’t the most popular social media site out there, but for writes, it is a great one to use and it is a lot of fun, too. Tumblr has the tools that can help you create viral posts. And, since the site is all about blogging, you can use the site to post excerpts from your books, to talk about other writers, and for many other purposes. Tumblr has a younger fan base so the site is especially beneficial if you write young adult books.
Facebook is a platform that every writer should be a part of. The site is the most popular in the world, with more than 800 million users. And, there’s an array of tools that can help get your name out there. It is easy to create a group to showcase your work or even a page that people can follow. And, it is easy to create a live stream to do reading or Q&A sessions with fans. It is essential that Facebook is on your list of sites to use if you are a writer.
Although some people think that Instagram is only for photo-sharing, the site has expanded its offerings over the past year and is now a great place to share a variety of content. It’s the second-most popular site used around the world with about 400 million users. IG is fun and easy to use and when you buy Instagram followers cheap, engage with the audience, and post regularly, it is easy to make a name for yourself on the platform.
YouTube has one of the largest search engines in the world. Videos get people’s attention because it is easier to listen to someone speak than it is to read. But, how does that help a writer, you ask? A writer can create a free YouTube channel and use it to promote their work in a variety of ways. Use the site to create reading videos, to talk about your boss, to provide information, and more.
Writers can now use social media to promote their work and get ahead. Isn’t it about time that writers had a place to go to share their work? Nothing is as amazing as sitting down with a good book to read and engage in another world. No matter what genre you write or the length of time you’ve been writing, allow social media to help you get ahead.
